Away Put Childish Things

Tue Nov 17, 2009, 2:19 PM
It's been a while since I updated this journal or posted anything. My apologies; college has eaten me up.

I'm posting this now because I've realized two things of late: First, it is unlikely that I will finish editing and posting Shades of Grey. The story and its precursor, The Restorers, no long interest me. And second... because, among other reasons, I consider both stories to be fairly juvenile writing and somewhat embarrassing. The sheer amount of Narm and Mary Sueism and Self-Insertion... It's hard for me to post stories on here that I want criticism on and then give out the links for fear people will see TR & SOG and judge my writing based on them. And so, as I desire in my writing to 'no longer be a child', I have thus ';put away childish things', to quote a Bible verse; namely, deleted TR & SOG from my dA. Both stories will remain on my harddrive in their entirety. I spent far too much time on them to delete them out of hand, and they are a source of good memories as well as wincing. If you really want to see them, or simply want to see the-- unedited, though largely quite the same in its current form as the form I would have edited into ideally-- ending of SOG, drop me a note and I will arrange to get both files sent to you.

And, for the moment, that is all. ^^

Thought you would like to know I kind of borrowed your poem idea for one of my own, you can check it out on my profile. If you would like, I can remove your name and poem from the comment section. Let me know what you think!

I certainly do not object; I'm glad (and a bit proud) that you could draw inspiration from it. Lemme go read it.

Thanks for the fave! Yeah, I spent a while on the details in that scene, more than I did on the people. So I like it.
